Well it arrived today. All 45 lbs of it. I need a set screw and clean the cable ends. I never get excited about thing. This I am. The cover is messed up. That head light lens stuff for cars will work good. It will be weeks till I'm ready to listen to it.

Hi Larry,

Looks like a winning turntable. You are like me: you would rather spend the extra time and effort in making sure everything is clean and adjusted to spec before playing your first LP on it.

I use Old English to moisturize the wood and sometimes Murphy's Oil Soap for a pre-cleaning before applying the preservative. I use a Grado cartridge on my Ariston Audio RD-80 turntable, but the Grado Gold might be a few steps above my model.

The reason for the Grado. Was because if I did the Shure and the Jico I would have more money invested. I read up on the Gold for a few days there was no ill reviews so I jumped. I have to clean the RCAs they are tarnished.

It was a good price. The Vandies are on their way also. Lee has the preboard to solder since I.m blind. Floors , windows and other things should be done in about 3 weeks. I think everything will be ready to play together by then. Yes I like this little TT all 45 lbs of it. LOL. I'm trying to think what all TTs I have. Did you get rid of yours?

OK I just ordered a set of levels for TT and one was for Thorens to make sure the bearing is straight for the spindle. The tone arm on this Micro is more than I paid for the whole TT. Audioquest wires and clamp. Plus sorbathane mat and feet. This is probably to me like your Thorens is to you.

Mmm... I think it may have come off, mostly. Could be some residue. Top is scratched, that had no stickers.

It took me 4 hrs to do that and it isn't done. Spent a bunch of time yesterday on the inside. It is getting there. Then comes the sides.

To me. To get adhesive off. I don't put to many things on plastic. I use my fingers to start rolling it into a ball. That is me. With the make up of plastics you never know what will hurt them and leave another residue on them. I have used WD-40 for alot of things though. Not so much on stuck bolts. There are better things out there. You should read the story about it though. I used it to get a 2 part sealer off my hands. This stuff it don't come off or out of your hair. LOL

Cosmetics I would do, probably if I ever rewire the tonearm. I will likely never rewire the tonearm.
