My buddy has worked at the Binghamton location since the 80s. He told me stories about horseplay and fighting. That vid paints a pretty pic until the realities of any workplace crop up. Mac gear is overpriced regardless which is why I used his employee discount for my gear in the 80s and 90s. Not to mention the dumpsters were treasure houses. It's funny, Mac employees rarely use Mac equipment at home unless they are real old. Many young folks work there now and can't afford the equipment. Nothing worse then bringing your work home with you

Have a bunch of Mac stuff sitting here gathering dust hasn't been used for the past decade .. just not into Mac stuff

Yeah, once I heard my old Mark Levinson 333.5 that put an end to all tube audio gear except for my guitar amps. The ML went because it ran so hit it scared me. I found a blown up PL400 for a $1 found this board and with a lot of kind folks help here, I am WOPL user till the day I pass on

They still bring top dollar. I sold a pair of MC-75's mono blocks in excellent shape for 6500 dollars. I think I paid 450 for them in the 80's

i did a switch to all Acurus stuff now i don't have to struggle lifting all that tube equipment heavy stuff

For me Mac is like a Rolex .
They are beatiful , very beatiful ,
but sound and time measurement are an "optional "

It was loud but I always thought it was ugly and “old” looking. Still do.
