That there's some fine work...

Great job, Mike! I love restorations that are done with the care that they deserve.

Very nice:tongue1: now tell us how's it sounds IYOW's.:blob:
I'm a thinking I am going to get the double out of the garage and strap/unstrap depends on how you look at it.......2 mono.
I had chance to put the amp into the system today ( Arcam CD-82T>Simaudio Moon i-3>BGW 750B>Spendor S8e) and I`m glad to report that it`s sounding every bit as good as it`s looking :happy7:

It`s a smooth and ballsy sounding amp. It doesn't have the low end torque or control of the 700B which is kind of hard to beat, but it`s very nicely rounded. The midrange is rather neutral with nothing really standing out or missing but has a slightly forward-of-the-loudspeaker plane presentation. The higher registers are a touch subdued, lacking uppermost octave sparkle and refinement but not at all grainy.
The stereo imaging is surprisingly holographic!
It has a very pleasant sonic signature which doesn't loose it`s composure when driven hard and has a good amount of dynamic headroom, just the attributes that made this amp such a popular choice in it`s heyday.
I`m beginning to wonder if Phase Two of this project is warranted, how much better can it get??:)
I`ll keep it running for a while just to see if any issues present themselves but so far it`s been behaving just fine.
Later I`ll put it on the bench and run some power tests, I`ll post those results then.
