That is a big amplifier, Lee. Is the Crown M600 something Chris brought over?

Nudies-----this is 1 channel folks, 1 transformer for the plus sinewave, 1 transformer for the minus sinewave.. 13,500uf X 4.

I know this is something you thought you would never hear from me BUT......with my present setup, I have plenty of power. When I build my ground -up mono's that will probably be the end of my amp searching. This particu;lar piece is very interesting from the standpoint that it is 2 separate quasi's --BRIDGED--for 1 channel and still will take on all comers at 4 ohms and less. 1500 watts into 4 ohms. Tests at 750 into 8. It was built for the road and to survive. My respect for Crown has jumped immensely just from roaming arouind under the hood of this one. The IC-150 and D150A he left here are as cherry as they come. The satin finish on the faceplates are immaculate. Satin finishes are hard to keep that way as any interaction with the physical realm results on marking of some kind. These have NONE.

Early Crown design is beyond reproach Lee. They had electrical engineers that understood exactly what they were doing and did it well. Their designs are very conservatively rated which equaled reliability. You will have a hard time killing an early Crown amp design. They did not design for cost.

That one you have will drive down to DC as well.
 
Very true Joe. It's specs advertise DC to 20khz.
 
Incredibly tough built amp. Joe, the owners manual is 147 pages, from theory to operation to exploded views, to pcb patterns and complete parts lists. And testing. The first owners manual where the service manual was part of it.

Yes Crown was detailed back in the day. My original DC300 manual is the same way Lee. It is in a 3 ring binder.
