How many watts will they take? You live in the country. I have a PL 700B we could try to blow your speakers up with. LOL

Larry: Lee needs a new nickname: how about the "Demolition Man?"

I doubt it could hold up to the PL-700B.

Nice specs though. the 99 spl is real good. But I think your right the 150 watts continuous might hamper them a bit with the PL. Would try and see which of your neighbors called the cops 1st. LOL It would be fun and not the 1st time the cops had been called on me for my music testing speakers. They heard them more than 2 blocks away like their windows were down and sitting by the house. I didn't know they were even in the living room. They stayed for awhile to listen after they told me to turn them down. LOL Alls well that ends well.

May some Amazing Loudspeakers or AL III's could give the 700 a run from the money.

Here's a pair of Pioneer CL-70 speakers I picked up a few days ago at Pearl's Seconds in downtown Squamish. I will try them out shortly. They physically look good with the usual scuffing on the bottom of the cabinets and a slight dimple in one of the tweeter dustcaps. The cabinets are quite rigid and the woodgrain applique has but a few flaws from use. These are 3-ways with a modest power handling of 40 watts and are perhaps a less expensive version of the Pioneer HPM-40..

I might make it a threesome, speakers that is. CL-70, HPM-100, and HPM-150 side-by-side. The three Pioneer Amigos will make life uncomfortable for the rest of you Pioneer non-believers. The time is nigh!

I see a showdown comin in Fort Dodge, aptly named for the goings on.

Oh, and the pair of Pioneer CL-70s cost me less than a dozen Guiness Pub Draughts or $20. The speakers had just come in and hadn't been priced, so the girl asked me what would be a reasonable price. Once again, I took advantage of a young girl.
