Larry's New Phase Linear 4000 Series I Rebuild

Very interesting preamp, so it's a 4-channel that you can connect 2 amps to and use the active crossover? Just how does that work? With one set of speakers? Great pics Lee!

It's kind of a fake fader or ghost back channel. An enhanced stereo reverb setup for a concert hall scenario is more like it. No active X-over.

Found the RCAs while cleaning up all the bad tapes.. I'll ship them with what we talked about. That way you will know then. LOL Might be enough RCAs to do them all. Do you want an IEC also?

AND THE SERVICE MANUAL !! fROM rICK sTOUT, STEREOMANUALS.COM Excellent quality as usual. Thanks Rick.

Yeah, but we gotta keep folks like him in business. Has all the Service bulletins too. Quite a few on this model.

I know I use him. He lives right over the mountain. I get it in one day. I have used him a bunch. He is a nice guy. Wonder if he would like to do a banner on the site?

Is this a missing component Jerry might be after to help in his "4 speaker for stereo musing thread?" Another interesting rebuild project, Lee!

Nando, have you checked the 700B thread lately?
Lee: I will.

On the Spec Thread, my favorite live action shot was the pegged pointers on your Pioneer Spec 2 while playing Styx. You have got to be kidding me - I doubt I've ever listened to music that loud in my home system.

Nando.

Nando, No kidding, that was during one of my monthly mini-concerts. we have a few friends and work buds over and try to emulate a concert. Sometimes we succeed. It was VERY loud. That particular night after that shot, we shut down, tri-amped the K-horns thru the D-23 with a Spec2, a PL 400 and a Kenwood KA-5002. The CV-D-9's were powered by a PL 700B, and the 2 pair of Heresies by a pair of PL 400's. That was a lot of SPL for a room 14 X 24.

Look what got here today, The real thing , not from the China e-bay F&^%$#.
