Sorry Steve, i was on a Stuwee bashing mission and was short of ammo, borrowed some of yours.
 
Before I get too far into Altecland or Lansing, I gotta know if Khorns are the path, or if VOTT is the direction. Imperial...is that the driver you had a pic of Lee? Green and 40's or 50's looking? Is that a driver name or a speaker name?

As I said, I'll bet it may be very room dependant, and pretty subjective as well. I want that $30,000.00 setup that is for sale on eBay. I bet that is some wicked shit. We should go together and buy the whole lot as a group and then divide it amongst ourselves. Need to go back and see how many pairs of speaks, how many amps, etc. are in that load and really evaluate what is there. Anybody got a tractor trailer? It probably would take a 53'er.....

What do you know of Altec A7 VOTT speakers? I have met someone online who has a pair which have been rebuilt, and I would like to get them, but don't know much about them. I already have a pair of Altec Model 17's, so I don't know how much (if any) of a leap forward this would be..but he has had the woofers reconed and I can choose either the 802 OR 808 compression driver...I think the price is right..........between 1800-2200 DELIVERED depending on the driver choice..
 
It you want volume they will deliver. That is a good price. I heard a pair many years ago and wanted them bad. Now I still want them; but they are just to darn big. If I was to pick a big speaker they would be it.

Well, I bought them. I will be making a deposit tomorrow, and will pick them up after they arrive on the East Coast. Should be some time in the next month or so. I hope I didn't get something less than desireable...I really hope they are more like unobtainium type speakers. I am concerned with the power handling in that the two drivers are each RATED at like 30 watts. I guess we will see....

Cool beans :D , I take it those bad boys need to be palet freighted by truck? 30 watts continious or peak? I wouldn't worry to much, you should be fine with a nice clean 100wpc amp.
