Kitty Litter Plinth

Ordered Resin and dyes the other day. For the Grace tonearm it is going to take a big plinth. Plus the Teac is deep also. Think I will make the TT flush. Such a deep subject for such a shallow mind. LOL

Seems some coffee ethusiasts do the same thing with elephant droppings.

It seems if a plinth needs kitty litter then well it plain and simple just stinks.

No wonder oil spills are easily contained in wyoming.

I tell ya, I just can get no respect.

Building my base at the moment. Using Bamboo flooring. Will test to see if the resin sticks to it. I keep changing the design in my head. Going to put 1/4 20 screws in the bottom. I can level it and use them for mounting the feet. I'm also making test blocks with different coatings to see which one doesn't stick.

Painted one block. Spraying Teflon on another till it quits absorbing it.

Good idea to test, some things might even stain the resin while setting. How would silicone spray work?

I have that also. Waxing may work also. I'm trying to have it reusable,

It wouldn't be reusable but I was wondering about if you made a mock plynth (positive form) as a form, then make the plastic bag Great Stuff form in two pieces, take out the positive form then put the resin in the form made of great stuff. You then could rip the great stuff off but still have the positive form to make another negative form when you wanted to.

Urethane is not that resistant to most polymeric resins. You were right to be perspicious Larrt.

The fumes would probably still attack the foam even in a plastic bag. We make packing this way with a garbage bag and spray the foam into the bag. It makes a nice form fit for packing.

Put dowels in holes and some PK screws. Set them all at .25 inch. That way the resin will flow under it. Oh the pics. Yes that is a dead blow adjustment tool. LOL
