That isn't why they unscrew. You unscrew them a little then hook them up and tighten them so you have a tight fit.

Daayum.. I think I just learned something here... Is this really the reason why those damn "rip yer jacks off" gold plated "gucci" cables were prone to ripping jacks off when ya tried to unplug 'em?? You mean you just had to unscrew 'em a little to get them to loosen?

(man, I feel dumb... heheh)

I guess butcher was a strong word, I meant one end has to be stripped to fit on the male pin connector, and RCA on the other end...I realy need a 40 to 45 inches length to reach the phono jacks on the preamp. I'll just get the ones I have now fixed, since I know how great they still sound, and get me some good'uns to the whole length later. Yea!!!

Don't feel bad Jerry, I just learned it too :geek: , the IC's I got from Dingus and Elroy have those same kind of grippers, I thought, WTH is up with these, the back of the Denon won't last 4 or 5 good tugs, me with 2 feet against the wall pullin' like a bull terrier :grommit:

I have some too, you need to remember which are which so you don't rip the back of something out while pissed that they dodn't come loose.

Got banana plugs like that too, not goog when just trying to make a quick change, they are to loose if you don't tighten them or to tight when you do. I need to find that setting.....
