Get it frickin' outta da box and into your computer, for one?? :thumbright:

Just like a tape deck.... line out's to your pre, line in's from the pre... No need to hook the dongle up just yet...

Then go to their site and download the latest driver from them directly, and install. Report back here when you're done, heheh

Sidenote to others.. yeah, look at that card eh? Aside from the gold RCA's, you'd think no way could it sound good...

I have the Xonar out right now and my own 2496 back in. They actually fixed their drivers for win 7, and until I roll another set of op amps in the Xonar, right now this lil guy has it beat for my ears.

Broadening your mind...

He puts the RCA inputs from line out on card to line in on preamp... then puts RCA outputs from line out on preamp to line in on card.. .LOL

Seriously... you can always just hook up the outputs from the card to your preamp, then play a .flac file or two and see how it sounds (I'm going to email ya some "info" there... ). AND you can always ALSO hook up the line/tape outputs from your preamp to the card and record "digitally". Basically you can do anything you want... but first and foremost ya gotta get it installed...

Going offline now and do that. Should put in the new CD drive while I'm in there.

Ok, pretty much the same thing.. 1st go over to the patchbay router and set it up to where your output 1/2 is tied to the "mixer"... Give me a screenshot of that page please.. I can't remember what the "xp" version looked like specifically...

Then the mixer (which is what you are showing me).. right now you have the wave out turned all the way down.. turn it up...

So go back to the 1st page.. and turn the wave out all the way up with the volume sliders..

Also, in your control panel.. sounds and audio devices.. make sure the m audio HW 1/2 (something like that) is your default audio output device...

That card looks alot like my Lynx audio card from a few years back.... It's not your typical PC distortion generator if it's anything like mine.

Lee, with a little software you can do amazing things with that card. Process sound files, multi-track recording, remove pops and clicks from records for a couple things.

Enjoy!
Robert
