Where's the PL1000 line for poor guys with kids and mortgages ;)
..... your kids have got mortgages?

..... and no Nando, not mine. I just steered him towards some that I thought were the ones to get.

..... by "suspended" Lee, r u talking about the t/t? That's something I was gonna suggest, but apparently, the rumble may be in his bearing. (???)

I got the 700B from the St. Paul sale last week so I have a "B" available. Nando, as always if you don't like it, send it back and I'll send the Spec 2. Hard to beat that ain't it??

Lee, how difficult would it be to incorporate a sub-sonic filter into your amps considering that people might be using 'em with t/t's?

That's pre-amp territory. Should be done at line level. A good pre (like the Spec 1) has got a 20db attenuation at 30 hz and 15hz.

So G are the t over t's the same as double tits squared or is that a t divided by a t which equals one? You know - inquiring minds want to know. :drunken:

A 700B would be my choice then. I can discuss any other details by PM when there is more time available for you, Lee. It looks like you are booked until the end of the year.

i had to think long and hard to think for an answer to your question D, and to be truthful, i can't think of a thing!

..... but having thought about it a little bit, T squared would be like sucking on a shoebox, and T over T could be exploited exponentially.
you'll can fill in the blanks with wotever pops up..
:confused2:

Derek: I don't have any JBLs, but I appreciate their sound from the few I have heard at Innovative Audio. Were these speakers George had? If so, it was certainly good of him to release a pair from his speaker collection for the anticipated arrival of your Phase Linear amplifier from Lee.

I almost bought a pair of JBL L 300s, but I hesitated too long.

Nando.
No I did not get them from George, but he made this all possible by drawing my attention to them and answering the endless questions I had about them. He also influenced my decision to dip into the WOPL fund to purchase them, I needed a second opinion. I don't regret purchasing them one bit, everything sounds so good now, even through my pioneer 9500s amp. The old 12 inch speaker boxes I had are now laid down on their side and the JBLs are sitting on top of them with some foam underneath to protect. I have turned the speakers upside down so the tweeters and mid range are at approximate ear level. Every single piece of music I play through them brings out detail like never before, I just sit there in awe, like now only intended to listen to a few tracks off an album, and ended up listening to the whole thing, very captivating these JBLs.

.... and they should be comfortable with the WOPL too, which was my major concern.
Not that you'd EVER have the need to run the WOPL that hard, but the JBL's will handle transients as well as the best of 'em.
.... and besides, most of wot you're listening to D2, could well have been mixed on exactly the same type of Monitor.

I guess I better get my ass into gear and do a couple of things with these turntables. First thing is to get the thorens TD 160 Super off the top of the damn graphic equalizer I don't really use (there is a wooden board between the two). Second thing is to put the Thorens TD 165 where the 2nd Pioneer amp is (as I don't need to use it with 1 pair of "great" speakers). Will try both turntables again and see how the rumble goes (you can't hear it, only see the woofer moving). It would be hard to move over to the TD 165 as it only has the standard tp-16 arm and I love my SME 3009 series 2 improved too much.

I find that I don't need to run the JBLs hard, they are so satisfying. With my other speakers I was driving the crap out of them. The bass guitar in star shpongled banner sounds entirely different with these JBLs, so defined.

I know what you mean Lee, I experience it daily with these new speaks, my hair will stand on its ends with more wattage, especially a world class WOPL.

BD, I have failed miserably at trying to read Joe's mind. It churns away at an entirely different frequency anyway...
