Looks like SPAM to me...stay away from it, especially if they want you to but something. Windoze downloads drivers automatically and tells you if it can't automatically find a driver (who can find this out FREE).

I'm not sure with Windows, with my Mac all I get is these warnings about how my Mac may have been infected by the last Porn Site I just downloaded:D

Spam for sure, get rid of it. Many scammers use this sort of thing to get money and/or credit card details out of people.

This appears to be the root of the scans and update requests. Did she download this by mistake then??

Most likely. Remove it and anything related or installed with it. Updates should only come through your windows action center.

Yes. That driver update utility has been floating around the internet as a background install opportunity thingy for freaking years. It can hide behind confusing install buttons on cleverly constructed websites or plain ole crappy ones. I come across folks that mistakenly installed it by accident quite often. In the aggregate, it's not technically malware but you still want to remove it as it can disrupt windows from performing the best.

As far as protection software tips go, I'll add on ...

Another free program you may want to install is called 'Malwarebytes'. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/
The free version doesn't have all the 'automatic' bells & whistles for the long haul but it's a proven winner and a good thing to run manually once in a while, especially when you are suspicious that something is up or you are unsure of what's on your rig over time.
