I have the chancevto purchase a PL700b and PL2000 all in working condition. Probably hasn't been upgraded. Is $750 for both a good deal?
Thanks

If they are cosmetically excellent and electrically fine I would say yes. I would also say they WILL need some money thrown at them to make them reliable so factor that in...Rich

You will need to wait for the experts to chime in for the answer to that question-of course if you are able to do things yourself it will be a bit cheaper.

Yeah I think I could pull it off. I have done some recaps of vintage gear and some repairs.

Figure $1500.00-$2000.00 for the works on the amplifier. The PL2000 can be upgraded with new OPAMPs for pennies. But to take it to the extreme of what it is capable of could run $500.00 or more, mostly labor.
For around $3000.00 (including your initial purchase) you will have a system that few can duplicate for any amount of money.
