Idler(Oh what the heck I'm playing with a tape deck again.)

Not sure what got into me, but I have this Akai GX-7 that I got awhile back. The good ole' "Worked great when I last used it" omitting he used it like .. 15 years ago trick.. Really put me off finding a good deck for awhile.. but I was messing around tonight and figured I'd give another go at it.

Anywhoo... I suspect the idler tire. Does anyone have one for that series of Akai decks that they can take a pic of, so I can compare the thickness? Or is there a good rule of thumb on how thick the tire should be?

Got a new idler... pretty much good to go now! Needs some adjustment, but both channels are pretty nice as is... both play and record. Nice deck.. pics a' comin up.
