I've decided I would like to see if I can pull off the rebuild of a Phase Linear 400 Series I on my own..and I need help...I don't know where to start.
I also thought, through this thread, it might be a good opportunity to create a set of instructions, for the novice, who would like to repeat the process.
So, will you guys help? I know the first thing I will need is the candidate 400...and order the things from White Oak, the replacement PCB, the meter light board and lights, and the new caps...has anyone else created a parts list of the other items needed from Mouser or the like? I know I'll need a new 35 amp Bridge Rectifier, and new output transistors, but don't know the part numbers or anything..
I do not own a signal generator, or an oscilloscope, and don't know which one to buy (on the cheap) to get the job done corectly..
Any and all help is appreciated. I will cut and paste all the needed information into a set of instructions for the rebuild of the Phase Linear 400, giving credit to everyone who provides information. I will repost on this site or others, for like minded folks to print in order to provide a set of instructions for anyone wanting to rework their old Phase Linear..
Thanks for any and all help...
