I was lucky enough to come across an Harmon Kardon HK250 so I snatched it up. She's no beauty queen but that's cool as I'm more concerned with function and sound.

I have all the stuff coming to recap this guy. I know there have been several of these rebuilt recently so any help or input for tweeks or ways to improve it will be appreciated.

I was not expecting any tubes with the HK250 when I got it so I was very pleasantly suprised to see all 6 tubes in a box with it. All are branded HK. Two of the 6L6's are grey plates and two are black plates.

I usually forget to get before shots but not this time. Here she is in all her dusty, dirty glory :)

Wow, she's a nice one! Have you had a chance to put it on the bench yet?

No bench time yet. Seller claimed it was fully working and "trun-key" but I noticed a few bulging caps so I'll probably never hear it before I recap it.

I guess I'm gonna have to head to the storage shed and dig out the tube tester and scope. I sure hope my signal generator shows up soon. I really need to get all the correct stuff for a bench and learn to use it

Jerry turned me onto a good program to do bench testing. It does everything but W&F. It isn't badly priced either. It is Daqarta. The guy who owns it is very helpful. If you have a problem he gets back to you the next day. I have it on my laptop so I can take it to the garage and work. All you need is a 19.00 external usb to hook up your cables. I think I got a Berhinger usb. Nothing fancy. It has a tone generator and scope. The tone generator is free to download. I have it and a DC power supply and a W&F meter. That is all I have bought to do my trouble shooting. Of course I have a VOM and a tube tester and a cap tester. I had all that before I bought the program.
