If McIntosh was highly profitable it would not be sold over and over. This is, if my memory is correct, the 6th sale of the company. When D+M Holdings owned Mc, my shop signed on as an authorized service center. At the time, manuals were paper and parts orders were by telephone. D+M modernized a bit by adding web sites and downloads, but service was very much run by a few old-fashioned people.
My guess is the new company will force manufacturing to move to China.

Private equity is without doubt the worst owners out there. Their interest is big profits within a few years. They leverage the corporation to the hilt, take the money out, and sell to the next private equity buyer. Rinse repeat. Last employee turn out the lights. Big world so there are less malevolent firms out there. Just don't grab your ankles without protection.
