High End

I would say most audiophiles cannot afford the components that you refer to as high-end Larry. Nor do they have the coin for a stack of new Mac electronics that you concider NOT high-end.

I did say it does sound good though. I put in that disclaimer. I don't think the Carys are high end either. Does that help. Like I said these are just my opinions. I do not know where the High End market stops or even begins. Now in my mind there is crazy also. I am looking at this differently than most. You know how much equipment is marked up. So we all have opinions though. On the audiophile thing. I'm just not one for labels. To me I'm just a guy who likes music.

I will go as far as I can to get the best equipment I can though. I try to keep it real though. I do like my PL. I like my Creek. I have never heard my Carys. So I can't really say.

PS I knew my Mac comment would get someone to speak up. LOL

OK I'm looking at power cable. How much a foot would you pay to build your own cables. Just asking. Won't say what I'm looking at though. I need 6 feet to wire the transformer the way I want.

Funny that you make statements like this, yet don't want to be called an audiophile. I think you need intervention for your denial lol. :cyclops:

I use to be a motor head. I'm not going to pay 600.00 for a 1 meter power cord. LOL With me it isn't a hobby. It isn't exactly a job either. Yes I make some money from it. Will I ever make a living from it? I doubt it. Right now I'm pretty happy with how things are going. A lot of times people have to wear a badge. I'M AN AUDIOPHILE! That just isn't me. Really I'm a guy who gets in over his head doing crazy stuff with audio. LOL I am very lucky to be living a dream that started when I was in high school. These monikers fit me better. Crazy, Stupid, and Dumb. I wear those badges proudly. LOL Oh and OCB. LOL

Agoraphobia, Ochlophobia and Demophobia would cover it.

If you think pics like this are really cool, you might be an audiophile... :cyclops:

Speaking of which. I may be selling my DBX. I haven't used it since I bought it. Never even hooked it up. LOL
