It looks vaguely familiar and just came out of a huge angled cab that had a big wooden horn on it before. This does not appear to be a Klipsch product to me but it seems to be very well built. Interesting looking magnet on it also. Anybody know who the manufacturer is?

Numbers on it are:

S1201A2

K111J63-188

C523

Also looks like either CD or GD stamped into the cage

Angled cab would mean Jensen or Altec years ago??????

I immediately was thinking Jensen, it looks an awful lot like a late 40s PM-12B or a derivative. The cage on this one looks more space age so maybe 50s? I wish there was both speakers but hey, it was free and only took 5 minutes to get out of the cab (angled with a lateral open back)

EDIT: can't be a Jensen or the code would start w/ 220

Figured it out, it's a GE 8ohm Super Alnico made for low wattage tube guitar amps in the 50s. Wish I had a amp to try it in. I don't want to mix speakers in my 6505 combo

Wow Joe, that is a beast. Looks like it needs a recone eh?

Looks interesting as hell. I bet Dr. Lucitt could shed some light....

I have a matching driver and would be interested in yours. I've got a beautiful 1959 Fisher TA 600 that would sounds great with a stereo pair. Do you still have this driver?

Offhand, it looks like an Altec Lansing 604, letter designation I wouldn't know.

Sorry I'm late to the thread and the GE pics are no longer available...next time you use a photohost uncheck the box below the URL you paste in the window and they will stay with US, not rely on an outside source.
