HDMI To RCA Possible ?

RetroTink makes handy products for anyone wanting composite video; s-video and audio converted to HDMI. I bought one of these for connecting SVHS VCRs
and various camcorders to my TVs. It's a competent little box, has given me not a single problem - and can be had for a fair price..

There are a shit-ton of devices that go the opposite conversion path. Here's just one example:

You have to be careful mixing new and old.
I almost bought one of those till I found out most HDMI ports are one way, they are input only.
They have to be EARC to be a 2 way port .

I wasn't suggesting the RT for you specifically; It's definitely NOT a bidirectional HDMI that is EARC compatible..

Just threw it out there as a side-note. What I typed was pretty clear..

I guess after you buy enough adapters anything will work... Kinda. I have had a nice few surround receivers / setups I would put em in a pile and burn them with kerosene before I traded them for a Pioneer 1250. Yeah, whoever built the newer Ham you are talking about kinda screwed the pooch.

Yeah the 1250 is close to/is TOTL, none of the surround sound BeePeeCee will touch it. I'm in the "a high quality two channel sound system is fine for movies" camp. Highly controversial I know......

I was just trying to inform people they need to be informed of the HDMI issues they may not be aware of.
I wasn't until I did a lot of research.
And that item you posted may be my next purchase.
I still have a nice VCR and a Laserdisc I may want to hook up someday.

Yup, Yaesu caught a lot of flack about that DVI 'feature' .
Icom got a lot of new customers for there newer radio with the HDMI port.
I am referirng to the Yaesu model 710 and Icom 7300 Mk II .

Does any of you know a good RCA to HDMI adapter for VCR ? Generally they work well with DVD .
I tested one , but video is ugly . It's for the future , because my Sony is still O.K.
Ciao
