Got a problem with Jani's computer

While downloading these flac files from D2, my downlod speed is 130kbps, WTF? Takes awhile with 320mog files....

130kbs and your complaining .. Wish I got those speeds. But I'm in the boonies so if I hit 130kps I'm happy as hell. I average prob 60 to 90 and I pay 70$ a month for that. I have a 60ft tower in yard to get wireless internet.

I've been there, had wireless for a long time. It took me 1 week to download a 7.39 gigabyte game, and I had to drag the computer up stairs to get a decent signal. Plus dealing with disconnects and such. Back in the dial up days I had some long connections, 2.4 gigs in 7 days. here's a screen shot:

Edit: the connection was 48k, the 115k shown is the actual com port speed.

We have comcast around with like 5mb speeds but we can't get it out here in the sticks. It's dial up or wireless..

Horror stories for me. We're a long shot from that here, we started out with 30MB/s on our provider, and over the years they upgraded our Internet speed 2 times (for free), once to 60MB/s (with a free replacement modem), and recently to 90MB/s. While it's usually around 50MB/s, that's quick enough to grab a HD video from torrents within 10 minutes.

I'm not switching to cable internet...I just let it buffer, then play. Screw You Tube and their recommended ISP stuff, my phone and ISP bill are only around $70 a month with unlimited long distance for Pete's sake and for another 4 years.

90 a sec omg dude that's crazy!!!

Now I am not sure if we're getting the right speed from our ISP though... Asked my dad and he said we most likely have Ziggo All-In-1 Extra, but that would give us 180MB/s instead of 90MB/s (MB means Megabit, not Megabyte here, one MBit is 0.125 MBytes). He'll check it out, because it would be weird paying for something we don't get (because 90MB/s is All-In-1 Plus speed). Extra costs 64,95 euros per month, Plus 54,95.
