College town in the summer could probably get a house cheap since school is out. Hotels won't tolerate to much debauchery. LOL Having a kitchen pass for a week. Some may just go crazy. LOL

Well who wants to make a list. Hotel isn't going to let us jam. If we rent a hall it means moving the gear back and forth unless people wont mind leaving it in the hall. Just thinking. If I sent any I wouldn't want to lug it around. LOL That is just me.

The hall would be secure for as long as we rented it. I would not be a fan of moving the K-Horns or the Soniphase in and out every day.

I'm thinkin.. hmmm... do you guys think it should be hosted near or in a city where it would be close to an airline "hub" of some sort? Airfare I would think would be less expensive if the number of hops is kept down, eh?

You are almost going to do a transfer one place or another. Carly had to when going to Vegas. Leaving east coast going west. There aren't as many non stops as it use to be. Non stops aren't cheap.

I think that Gillette would be a great place. A small town which everybody knows everybody and I'm sure they know Lee. When I was out there the hotels were one of the least expensive and cleanest that I've encountered. Very close to the Black Hills and Badlands, Mt Rushmore. And I have eaten foods all over the world and the best vegetable beef soup that I have ever had was the place were Lee and Jani took us

Mark, Sturgis is a spectacle that everyone should experience at least once.

As usual I come up with all the right answers,,,post a map of some sorts and let the members who are interested post where they live and just take a point that is and average distance between the members,,,close to a rail/airline hub,,do I have to think of everything

If we can see where everyone is coming FROM we could try to find the most central location... If everyone will be flying to a Major airport as a dsstination, it MIGHT be cheaper...but one of the major considerations will be .....................How are we going to get all the equipment we want to listen to............to this destination..It would be interesting to check in at Delta Airlines with a Pair of Altec lansing A-7's or a Pair of SonicPhase, or whatever....I THINK all the PL amps are going to be very similar in sonic signature, but all the different speakers everyone talks about.............that's what I want to hear.........but really I know that MEETING EVERYONE will be the REAL PURPOSE and the REAL REASON for the gathering.....or outing, or what cha going to call the FEST?

Plus Lee.....you have the Cabbage Cases.....and I have some Anvil Cases..........for amps....but most important is the choice of location.....we might be able to have some speakers delivered via FREIGHT...YRT or one of the major freight lines.....and I've used Freightquote.com and it's not horribly expensive....you just end up with them tearing your stuff up pretty bad. They are REALLY ROUGH on stuff...unless you build some wood shipping containers...that helps some..Might want to consider a fee or something to help pay the freight ......

The location central to Lee and Mark so we could have the infamous KHorns and Sonicphase speakers in attendence...From Gilette to Chicago is 16 hours......or 8 hours each......and Sioux Falls is about in the middle...

I would be inclined to go along with have it in an area with several members do to equipment hauling, if you are intending to have listening. I for one would not ship any equipment, it just has to many chances of damage. Let alone all of the carrying and setting up.

I have been to AudioKarmas Fest, there is a lot of work that goes into these things.
