Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Just added dime to the price of a gallon, this is going to start being a pain in the ass soon...

I'm currently getting great mileage. Haven't used anything at all since my fuel gauge stopped working.

I had the fuel pump gizmo replaced and it included the fuel gauge sensor. That part went out, so I fill up, reset the trip odometer and fill up again at about 300 miles.

I just don't know the range of my tank, so I've filled it to the brim, reset the trip meter and I'm gonna drive it 'till it runs out.
Got some spare in the boot [trunk] for when it does.
I'll finally know once and for all just how far I can go.

I just looked - today's exchange rate: 1 Australian dollar = .73 US dollar = 1.369 conversion

1 Liter = 1.05 USA Qt.

So, $2 (AUS) x 1.369 x 4 liter x 95% = US ~$10.41/gallon. (That's heading towards Mad Max kind of preciousness.)

OUCH!

You almost had me there.
It's actually US$5.475/gallon. [AU$2/l x 3.785l/gal = AU$7.50/gal x US$0.723 = US$5.475]

.... yep it's called demand destruction. When the price gets so high nobody can afford it.
This morning..

Oops! My bad. You know when bedtime has already come & gone...but then you see something that you really wanna respond to?

Don't do it...especially if math is involved. :0)

Obviously, if I had done even the crudest whole number cross-check from my 'murica perspective (~$2 {US} x ~4qt = outer limit price ~$8/gal) ...in other words, $10.41 > $8 = fails grade school common-sense test. Duh - especially once you factor in US/AUS exchange rates + Qt/L size ratio.

****

Given the above, please excuse my Pelosi moment.

At least I'll fess up to it. :0)

Cheers --
