Ok, who remembers doing this !

I remember doing it.
It added about 400 extra horsepower ...........and 12 mpg more.

Did this on a few of my cars.
The trick was to buy the truck version air filter element of the same engine and it was quite a bit taller.
Mopar was easy since the cars and trucks shared mostly the same engines.
Just had to make sure it wasn't too tall to interfere with the hood closing.
