I've built several of these after finding a thread extolling it's virtues. I needed a great Phono Pre to go with my Acurus RL-11. I researched the Rotel RQ-970BX after reading about how nice they sound especially after doing the Mod to it. When I removed the cover, I was impressed with the quality of the components it was built with. Being Chinee, you usually don't see them built with quality components but it came from the factory with Nichicon, Rubycon Black Gates and other parts we use on our builds of amps/pre's/tuners etc.... The Mod (I'll provide a copy), was rather expensive but the components were top shelf and the Mod procedure was engineered by Andy Grove of HifiWorld several years back. and after listening to it while I was waiting for parts (some hard to find so I bought 3 sets) and it sounded very nice. Then I did my unit and it woke the Rotel right up. Been using it with the Acurus since I bought it. You can read the Mod if you are interested and also read a couple reviews on it. If you are not happy with it, I'll buy it back. This matches the Acurus very nicely and is in Excellent condition with the original box, manual.
