I cannot believe no one mentioned the Tillley hat. Made in Canada and guaranteed for life! It is machine washable, has folding sides and almost indestructible.
I got mine at West Marine and it was not cheap, but hey guaranteed for life, who does that anymore?

Pat got a Tilley years ago on a trip to the Keys; yes it was expensive. But it's lighter and that's good in warmer weather. She beats the hell out of it taking it in and out of her pool bag. The brim frayed over the years and she just got a replacement from them in May. Lifetime warranty on the original hat, not on the second one. She's got both; they allowed her to send photos instead of returning it.

Had this baby for 37 years. My official fishing hat. Started life as a xx whatever and has been keeping water out of my neck and bugs off my bald spot for the full 37...
