Fozgometer Azimuth Range Meter

Yeah....quite the business model....as opposed to our hobby model...
 
How sensitive would this meter be? Could you not get close by calibrating VU meters on a good tape deck for example using a known input voltage same each side then look for unbalance when playing the test record? Even use one meter and seat the input left and right into that one meter look for equal level? Or is this thing WAY more twitchy?
 
I have a small digital microscope & some folks use those focused on the tip, with a grid overlay to do it visually.
