Fishoz's PL 400 Conversion

Has the same basic layout as a PL400C board, but there is no designation on the board. It also looks to be another generation beyond the 400C board. Time to call Ed....Early Series 1 400.....way early...

Looks like the first prototype... :-)

This amp is later than that Joe. Feb of 72. He has a board that looks like this, but not populated the same, and his has nothing on the trace side of the board, this one has plenty on the trace side.

I have some chassis' I got from Ed a year ago, along with 4 transformers. I don'y know if they were 4 fin or 8. The bias transistors don't have a P strap. They have the transistor heatshrunk, and a hook strap over them...

It also has 2" diameter caps, which probably wouldn't work with the later Jewell meters. These are midland's...

Agreed Joe, a lot of changes and hardly any documented...

Bias tranny's/.......

God Particle was the last song...........I may have been a little intense....
Did you blow her up Lee?

I heard that cut....

Sounds like you're running into a buzz Saw? If you find Bob's signature somewhere on it button her up and we'll put her for auction!!

How did she test out...didn't sound good?

Believe it or not those meters were mounted that way. No I did not blow it up. Never put it on the speaks either.

Beautiful drive through Bighorn State Forest to Cody. Stopped to take in a view now and then. Already hit the Dug Up gun Museum....pretty cool! One Dragons Milk under my belt already. Sounds like we may just weather out a small storm in the room. Acquired leftover steak/buffalo burger and chips could be a microwave dinner in room, throw down another DM and veg...wish I had my system right now!!

Cody is pretty cool. Reminds me of the touristy north woods towns in Wisconsin...only western!

Will have no problem wasting time here. Early morning trek to Old Faithful tomorrow. Back late afternoon.

Will be peeking in this evening.

Meant to ask...Jani seemed to enjoy Joe Bonamassa. Should have burned it while there. Will get her a copy.

Yes, she did like it..You'll get a kick out of Yellowstone...so you went through Manderson and Powell??

I know that. On the other side of the Big Horns is the Big Horn Basin. There were a few more towns you had to go through. Like Manderson and Powell, or you could have gone through Worland....

Starting over......couldn't stand it. Fish now gets an 8 fin later model chassis. About got iut stripped...

I was wondering when you were going to get to that point Lee :-) With so many 8 fin units out there in the wild, all built uniformly, it makes little sense to invest serious time in the 4 fin units and the uncertainty of what lies within...not to mention the more limited heat sink radiation that comes with 4 fin units.

Amen Joe, still have a few around. This will be better all the way around. I don't think Fish will complain...
