hi guys, John here. remember me? i was "MacGyver" on TAPEHEADS until my untimely departure some years ago.

i'm a vintage A/V gearhead, and an Anime (Japanese Animation) fan with a strong bias towards PIONEER branded gear of late-80's vintage.
and while i am most certainly aware of other brands and eras of manufacture,
and that PIONEER was never the "Best" at much of anything they ever produced, far from it even,
my personal favorites of the many products throughout the decades the firm made are plenty good enough for me.

also, while i don't exactly have an audiophile dream system by any real standard, it serves me about as well as i could ever ask,
and is far better a setup than i ever dreamed of having when i first got into Hi-Fi over a decade ago.

anyway, some of my limited credentials;

Nice turntable, I had that exact same model with a Shure Supertrack on it when I was in college and loved it.

I don't know!

That's because when I click the icon to find the quoted post it keeps coming back to this thread!

It is amazing how many threads MacGyver started there and newbies find them and pick up the threads tho'.

Erm...Jer, Why does Master Tasuke show in the member profiles with this first post that Nick quotes, yet no sign of the actual QUOTED OP and their beginning post in this thread?

Good to see you again, John. Stick around, eh? How's the D1S holding up for you?
beautifully. got another one as well a couple years back for around $300shipped,
seller claimed it saw almost no use, complete with original box...

LOL.. well first I had to figure out what the 'effin heck you guys were talking about by reading Steven's post a few times... then it "dawned" on me (remember.. I can see the post, "moderated or not")...

That's our "spam o matic" stuff in action... basically one of the "features" is if you are new and immediately post more than a few links.. or pics... It'll put it in the mod queue first. Yeah, PITA sometimes but hey...

Sorry 'bout that. Carry on... :toothy10:

Like I said, you inspire so many newb replies to your old threads they don't know what they're missing anyway.

Umatilla? My BIL drives for Walmart in Hermiston but we can't get cheap watermelons here if we pick them up at a truck stop...Ever crawl over to Walla Walla or Pendleton on a weekend?

I like my Pioneer 9500s amps, one was free and the other was $70. The one on the left now has dead line in electronics so is used as a power amp by sharing the pre out of the right amp. They have served me well.

I think Tasuke is a warrior of sorts. I don't realy know much about that, I like his Pioneer gear and my collection also speaks for itself.

Receivers: SX-D7000 (x2), SX-6000, 450, SX-525, FM-P300

Tuners: TX-950 (x2), 7800, 800, 9100

Integrateds: SA-800, 8800, 520

Cassette: CT-F650, 500, 615, 501, 502. CT-W500, 770R (x2), 7272, CT-2121, 3000, 20

Laserdisc: CLD-M90, S104

DVD: DV-525

CD: PD-F907 (file changer)

Audio timers: DT-500, 510

Eight track recorders: H-R100 (Dolby)

Speakers: CS-33, A31

Phonographs: PL-4, 610

EQ: SG-550

Boomboxes: SK-71, 350

That's most of it, mostly working that is, a lot of the cassette decks need belts and other repairs and I save a Pioneer AM/FM portable hand sized transistor radio from a coming rainstorm in an outdoor pile at an auction once and gave it to a friend as a fixit present (which he did too)!

I still don't have a Pioneer reel to reel...:-(

I've had a lot more than that over the years...three SX-3600s alone, PL-12D and H-R99 as well!

What does Tasuke mean in Japanese??

sorry for late replies... "Tasuke" means, literally, "Help" strange, i know, but i heard it, liked the ring of it,
and began using it as a username long before i actually ever found out what it meant.

embarrassing, to be quite sure, but i suppose it could have just as easily ended up translating into something not to be voiced in polite company,
so it's not so bad after all i guess?
