Went over to a neighbors house where all of us plus some of their own friends and family were gathered. They had a ton of great food. We all socialized, played cards, etc. I had about three beers plus one Jell-O shot made with Fireball.

Watched the ball drop in Times Square. I have not missed it once in 32 years; I've seen it every New Years since 1983 albeit on tape delay since I'm on the West Coast.

Shortly after, we said our good nights and good byes and made that long seventy-five foot trek home and were in bed by about 0045.

I was hearing random explosions by 10:45. Not all that much happened at midnight. I think I made more noise with the cannon shots in the 1812 Overture. I wasn't about to go outside, so it got all the thunder 24 watts of Sherwood tube receiver could provide. Otherwise I sat here and read. It was a nice peaceful evening.

It was about 1:30 a.m. before Geri and I settled in for the evening at home. The casino was hopping with people for the celebration. We had reservations for an outside table with gas centre-hearth. Nice night out, but cold, so the heaters were enough to keep us comfortable. We met many other friends, while out on the covered patio. Dinner was great - I had a nice grilled salmon dinner and the girls opted for beef dip. Geri racked up a bar bill fast with her girlfriend accomplices trying new drinks out. Her booze tab was more than my meal & drinks so I made her pay. We watched the Times Square ball drop on the overhead TVs, so we brought in the New Year with the customary annual ritual.

Next year we plan to have a house party. Those are always the best.

Nando.

The American Pickers episodes they chose to run last night at midnight were much more entertaining than the broadcast from Times Square :) Raised a toast to some really good finds by Mike Wolff and Frank Fritz

Happy 2015 to all!
