ebay Phase Linear 700B rescue

We do that with 1-1/2" bolts in the shop with a 5hp 14" wire wheel...

Painted the meter surrounds with rattle can flat black, also cleaned the face plate.

Not going for a 100% restoration, just want it to look good in the family room.

I need to pick up some double sided tape for the insert, then I can assemble the face plate.

Thanks, one of them flew from my buffing wheel at about the speed of sound across my basement, luckily I was able to find it.

It was pretty funny, no one was injured, good times...

Definitely an OH Shit moment....

Lee probably has a bulls eye on the wall that they shoot for....

Finishing up on the cleaning, will post some more pictures.

What size black sheet metal screw hold the top and bottom panels on? most were missing when I received the amp.

Small------black------sheet ------metal--------screws------I know, a born smart ass I am......

No need for double-sided tape for the insert. The meter Bezels hold it in. I just put a little scotch tape on it from the back side to hold it still for assembly. Then a dot of RTV on all that shit to keep from rattling while you split your Wopl Wig....

Looking good......

Too late on the tape, I used some 3M tape in the same place as the factory did.

I replaced all of the lamps with new incandescent lamps, boards are in good shape, if the lamps keep burning out I will go with the WhiteOak LED board.

I broke one of the volume POTs, when threading the nut back on, the cast piece broke off at the base, 2 new 10K pots on order.

Almost there...

Your Welcome Sir, excuse my smartass , it's hard to control....kinda....sorta.....

Your amp is looking good - nice work.

There is one good reason for upgrading to LED lighting. The meter plastic tends to become brittle over time when exposed to heat. Incandescent lamps are heat generators by nature - LED lights are very efficient - hence they generate very little heat.

If you are not having fun...why bother.

Someone drilled 1/2 inch holes in the front cover top holes, I will try and find a 1/4 inch bolt with a big head, or maybe a beauty washer, and install a bushing in the top mount holes.

Will be stopping by Fastenal in the morning.

Excellent point, I will do that soon, meters are not growing on trees.
