Dynaco Stereo 400

Dunno. I haven't contacted the seller yet.

It looks like it's just up the road from my house. I wanted to make sure it was worth the $0.38 in gas to get there to collect it before I called on it.

Is that an opening bid or “buy it now?” Recycling the metal alone might get you $1.25!

(Guy on the TV from Robocop) “I’d buy that for a dollar!”

It might burn the house down if you plug it in though…….

I thought that was only Phase Linear products that did that?

Problem child... protection circuit too sensitive Glass Audio or Audio Amateur i think had a nice mod for it

I heard from the seller. He fired it up slowly on a rheostat and it worked fine the first time; distortion the second time.

He asked for my phone number to follow up. I guess I’ll get it tomorrow.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's I tested about 500 driver boards for this amp and it's siblings the 410 and 416. I didn't necessarily like the totem pole output section but it met spec and was reliable. If i didn't have a 200 W/C amp I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this one. It uses all commonly available parts in the signal path and will likely need coupling capacitors etc. I have all of the documents if they aren't available elsewhere.

Well, assuming I get the thing, it’ll need a full rebuild it sounds like.

I may be calling on you for documents and help!

Since I’ll be collecting it at dinner time, it will be left on the front steps for me to collect tonight.

Price reduced from $1 to free.

I will draft a thank you note to leave when I collect it.
