Does Oppo still do service?

I think that Dave is making reference to the ES9038PRO Sabre DACs that are used INBOARD on the UDP-205 player Mark.

They are top of the line.

Is there such a this as DAC chip rolling? If I had a lesser expensive DAC unit, could I drop a ES9038PRO chip in it as long as the architecture/pinout is the same?

They are all high pin count SMT devices and there is no pin for pin compatibility in the industry that exists
