Thanks for sharing Daren. :-P

About the article:

"As people settle down and middle age begins to creep in, the last musical age, as identified by the researchers, is dominated by ‘sophisticated’ music, such as jazz and classical and ‘unpretentious’ tunes, such as country, folk and blues..."

This feels like real nonsense to me, by getting older I'm still interested in new things; like new influences in trance music for example.
The only thing I began to appreciate more and more at my age is wearing a classic AKG K240 pair of cans. (although heavily modified to nowadays standards...)

There's still plenty of time left to act like an old fart I guess.....

Who knows? Maybe Kenny will make a killer trance album...

I won't refute the study, but I am sure many who have attended high school reunions, and I have been to my 20th, 25th, and 30th class reunions (Class of '77) sure didn't listen to anything at the dinner and dance other than what we grew to love during our adolescence. I guess many of the tape mixes I have done, I try to capture a bit of that youth, but I do throw the odd tame tune in there as I mature. Which means...Miles, I think we're done for and the study is proving true. What would you like to do for our next themed mix tape - how about "With a Taste of Geritol?" All easy-paced music to go along with a steaming hot chocolate?

Nando.

I'm in for that! :toothy10:

I knew you would accept my offer, Miles. I already have the opening track in mind. It's a classic song still sung by the old Italian who originally sang it. The song is called "I Left My False Teeth In San Francisco."

I will folow that with the track "Je Suis Un Rockstar" by Bill Wyman....

Miles informs me that he is a big fan of Richard Marx.

Add hot chocolate and you have a winning combination.

Gosh! You guys are so cool...

Miles has a soft side? Thanks for the intel, Daren. The possible bands for such a mix is growing. Another one:

"One Prune, One Nyquil, One Metamucil" by George Tea & The Pacemakers.

Sep,

Don't take the last posts too serious.... :toothy10:

Personally: Things like Michael Bolton, Richard Marx etc. are fine examples of a music genre I skipped completely and still do.

There's so much enjoyable music available to listen to at the moment it almost is impossible that I've missed something.

Oh i'm sure Miles, i'm discovering it all the time, still wondering how could i miss such great music when hearing something i never did... :-P

G, Marx & Bolton - I'm in Dreamland

Ooops!

I meant Dairyland.
