Broken beyond repair but highly affable
I liked the photo article about "You know you were a kid in the 1980s in Vancouver if"...

Especially the reference to the only good radio station being LG 73 (CKLG 730).

As a ravenous AM DX'er at the time I loved it.

Loving the name of that ferry Nando...
Quote from the article:

Walkmans were a popular portable music device in the '80s and early '90s that played cassettes you had to rewind and fast forward, and if the tape got tangled you had to use a pencil to ... oh never mind.

That is meant for the younger generation I guess; The fast forward generation, there isn't any rewind......

I get sick and tired of people constantly skipping tracks, and not listening to albums as a whole, like they were intended to be. I have never heard a friend of mine listen to an entire album, pisses me off. When someone does an album that's how it was meant to be presented. Of course mix tapes etc are an exception but you know what I mean. The young hipsters don't really know what an album is these days, its all single compressed files that sound like shit.

That's why I like vinyl and tape formats, more encouragement to listen to the whole package.

A WOPL 1000 would take that speaker out with ease :evil4:
Thought about this for a couple days D2. The guy is destroying this speaker with a 240 volt variable speed drive at between 50 and 400 hertz. He somehow also rigged up a variable voltage feed to the drive. He finally cooked it above 200 volts. Our average WOPL puts out between 65-68 volts. I believe from the stated rating of the driver the WOPL would clip long before the speaker would destruct...now after clipping the amp could cook the voice coils, D2, that's a big, bad assed 21" driver. The 15" EVX-155's in Tim's Soniphase are rated at 1000 continuous and 2000 peak, and he's clipped his WOPL on em. There are a lot of bigger, badder amps out there than a WOPL, but they'll cost you at least the mortgage on your house, and I doubt they would sound better in our applications...

Create your own....

@Miles - Errr, nice Beetle...
The bonnet is clear, so there's enough space to decorate it to your own needs!

Maybe a nice idea for a new thread: "Who's able to create to most sleazy bonnet".....

I'm sure a lot of you are very creative with pencils, glue, paint, ballpoints or other artistic materials.
No matter what... As long as the final result is sleazy, it's fine to me.
