Real Eighties Vintage Fun!

Didn't know where to post this, so this thread is possibly the right one for it...

Found a very rare Yamaha PortaSound keyboard from 1984/1985, and after cleaning it completely it's brought back in state of new:

Besides of the first generation PS-2 and PS-3 small keyboards by Yamaha I've never seen this one before, but it's real fun!

No way Daren!

I do have some self respect. :evil4:
That is a real shame.

You have totally spoilt my weekend now.

Seriously though; great images. Keep 'em coming Miles. :)

I picked up an air guitar for a few pence yesterday. I'll share some pics later...

Miles: I only have enough experience to play five keys and those are the function buttons on my older Pioneer cassette decks.

Don't forget, we have a Synthesizer-Only Mix Tape project down the road. You might want to incorporate a bit of your fine playing skills for an excerpt.

Daren: Were there any other portables you especially would have liked to own or had owned besides the two I know you have?

Nando,

I would need to do my homework (so I could give you the details of the actual models), but I always liked the look of some of the premium Aiwa personal stereos.

On a related note - at one point, I quite fancied having a portable DAT player/recorder. If memory serves me correctly, Aiwa also dipped their toes into this market.

I think an Aiwa HS-PX303 would be on that list, Daren. I remember Antun's articulate articles on Aiwa portable cassette decks on TH.

You could well be right on that Nando.

At the time, the Sony Walkie Pro and DC2 were good enough for me. Unfortunately, Aiwa (or anybody else) just didn't get a look-in.
