It'll sell. I hope nobody pays the $950 they're asking for the other one...sheesh.

So what is a redone 700B actually worth? I realize we try to keep the price down for our own reasons but these have to be worth more then a couple hundred bucks, especially when you have to pay about $800 for parts and labor let alone whatever you pay for a donor chassis which is usually at least $300. If it's done rght, I think it's worth the $950 they are asking. Where the hell else do you get a similiar quality amp for less then a couple thousand????

It gets very confusing when people say these amps are the cats meow but balk at paying a fair price for one that is restored

Like anything, they are worth exactly what someone will pay.

Unless you have a stock of amps, all rebuilt, tested, and warrantied, its pretty hard to set a price for them. Especially considering they are built on someone else's design. Seems as though most of the rebuilds vary from amp to amp considering the original donor chasis. To be able to charge a specified price, you need to produce amps that are identical in looks, build, and sound quality. Without a company to take all the rebuilds under one roof, a varied price based on condition is the best you can ask for.

500$ is about normal for a very nice one! But I've got a couple cheaper and a couple more expensive. So it's all in what your willin to spend on one!!

Exactly.

From the rebuild stand point, yes you can charge a certain amount for the work and parts, which could be a constant. But unless you are pumping out brand new units, with identical appearances, it would be hard to set a price across the board on 700's.

You are right about that!! Eventually white oak is going to have to make amps from the ground up or work with a company that builds the chassis!! I think at this point all the core members need to find a 700b and have it WOPL'ed! Because eventually this is all gonna fall in place and were gonna be looking at 2 and 3k amps!

I see your points. It's just cool to be able to own a few of these because they sound killer and have a great retro look. I love them, cranking Lee's 700B now with some Iron Maiden and can actually just about touch the redzone with the E-712's but I hover over the volume because I am out of fuses LMAO

When White Oak releases the new line, I am sure some of us will be inline for the first few, even if it means refinancing the house (ducking wife's hand) :evil4:

It will be great but I gather I'll be fixing my own stuff by then.

Stephen in Phoenix sold everyt amp there is for years. A WOPL'd 700 is worth 7 grand as a new build....
