[h=1]Man Dressed as Batman Is Chasing Off Frightening Clowns in North England[/h]

Another Batman — not Michael Keaton! — is scaring away clowns in England (Photo: Everett)

By Ryan Parker, The Hollywood Reporter

Seems the scary clown craze is not only in America.

There is an issue with people dressing up and frightening people in England, but they pissed off the wrong person: Batman.

Someone in Cumbria, located in North West England,
has been chasing off those dressed as clowns in the hopes of making
children feel safe, according to The Telegraph.

A photo of Batman in action and a video surfaced of the British Caped Crusader telling kids it’s safe.

A group calling itself Cumbria Superheroes is behind the effort. According to The Telegraph,
the group didn’t form to act as vigilantes so much as to
reassure children there is nothing to be scared of concerning the
clowns.

“As for you clowns, if you want to scare someone, why don’t you try and scare me,†the man dressed as Batman says in a video posted to Facebook.

There has been numerous issues with the sudden clown
craze in America, which has resulted in multiple arrests and
clown costumes being banned from some schools for Halloween.

McDonald’s: Ronald McDonald keeping a lower profile

NEW YORK (AP) — McDonald’s says Ronald McDonald is keeping a low profile with reports of creepy clown sightings on the rise.
McDonald’s Corp. said Tuesday that it is being “thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald’s participation in community events†as a result of the “current climate around clown sightings in communities.†The company did not provide any other details about how often its red-haired mascot makes appearances, and how that will change.
The burger chain’s decision comes after a rash of pranks around the country that have involved eerie clown sightings. The reports have forced police in some areas to respond.

Americans More Scared of Clowns than Climate Change

According to a poll conducted by Chapman University, 42 per cent of Americans are afraid of clowns, whereas only 32 per cent are afraid of climate change.
They’re also more scared of terrorist attacks (41 per cent), gun rights infringement (38 per cent), family members dying (38 per cent), economic collapse (37 per cent), Obamacare (36 per cent), and biological warfare (35 per cent).
If you believe Vox’s snarky coverage, this is evidence that the American public is very stupid.
We get it: Clowns are creepy. Especially when lingering in empty parking lots at 3:30 in the morning, holding black balloons. But are they scarier than real threats, like climate change, economic hardship, or the death of loved ones?
According to Americans, yes. Yes, they are.
I’d disagree. The results of the poll suggests that Americans have a generally sensible perspective on what constitutes a genuine threat to their wellbeing – top of the list, even higher than a terrorist attack, is corrupt government (61 per cent).
Also, it accords well with a far more important global survey – so important it deserves a separate article which you can read here – showing just how low a priority climate change is for most people in the world.
Essentially climate change has become a luxury problem which only liberals in rich countries can afford to worry about. For everyone else, there are many, many more pressing concerns…

[h=1]Partially-nude female clown charged with chasing cars[/h](Not a Nav candidate ... )

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman was arrested Thursday after numerous witnesses called 911 to report that a partially nude woman wearing clown makeup was chasing cars and jumping in and out of traffic on a country road in Cunningham.
Candice A. Kreidel, 37, was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and making non-emergency 911 calls.
According to an arrest warrant, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene after "a series of calls about a white female wearing clown-like makeup, a stocking cap, and was either partially or completely nude that was running up and down Louise Road, chasing cars and jumping out in front of other cars."
While a deputy was on the way to the scene, 911 received four calls from Kreidel "in which call takers were berated, threatened and cursed," the warrant states.
When the deputy went to Kreidel's home on Louise Road, he found her in a sports bra, pajama-style bottoms, a stocking cap and wearing clown makeup on her face and body. She was also holding a beer.
Kreidel first denied being on the road but later admitted she had been running up and down the road in traffic, the warrant states.
When asked why she called 911 and berated dispatchers, she said it was because "they need to do their jobs."
Kreidel was determined to be intoxicated and a danger to herself and others and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $1,500 bond.

Jokers Beware: Florida Parents to Carry Guns amid ‘Creepy’ Clown Problem

Some Florida parents have made clear they will be responding to the “creepy” clown problem by carrying guns as they take their children trick-or-treating.

Florida Today (FT) quotes Brevard County’s Kimberly Kersey, who made clear her plans to be armed while she takes her sons through the neighborhood. She said, “I’ll be carrying for sure, I’m not leaving to chance. I’m terrified of clowns already and if one messes with me or my kids it’ll be to the hospital or morgue they go.”
Titusville’s Pam Metz said, “Since I have no gun, I will be carrying a bat around on Halloween night.”
The decision to arm up comes in response to clown suspects terrorizing people in Brevard County.
An incident reported on October 15 entailed “someone disguised as a clown in north Melbourne threatening victims with a large bat, stick or ax.” The suspect allegedly confronted people, then charged at them and threatened to kill them. Police were called for a clown acting similarly on October 20. In both instances, the suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived.
FT stresses that the two October incidents were only the latest in a string of others:

  • Three suspects wearing clown makeup attempted to rob a woman in Cocoa in January. They were unsuccessful.
  • A woman walking her dog in Palm Bay saw two clowns staring at her from a wooded area.
  • Palm Bay police reported that they received at least four more clown-related emergency calls.
Fox News/AP reports that some Brevard County law enforcement personnel are worried that people who innocently dress as clowns Monday night might get hurt. Palm Bay police Lt. Mike Banish said, “The problem is that someone dressed like a clown could scare someone and there’s a possibility, a possibility you could end up with someone getting shot. A person could think that they’re about to get robbed.”

Apparently the gang wars were getting mundane. I guess we'll have PTA vigilante sweeps.
