Great story of a high school kid that worked at the Warehouse. Recorded the last Duane Allman concert with two mics in the rafters. Headphones recommended.

Background on the Warehouse. Look under tapes and you'll find many concert recordings.

Saw Lee Michaels at the Warehouse. Just him on piano and a drummer. Crowd was not happy. Expected a full band. Lee Michaels and his drummer proceeded to blow the roof clean off. Never seen anything like it.

Wow ! Great place to have lived near-to. I would have been there often. I lived in Chicago at the time and managed to see many good concerts but the Warehouse in New Orleans sure did have one hell of a show line-up (Better than in Chicago) The cheapest price I ever paid to see a show in Chicago was 4.50 and most at that time were in the $6 to $8.50 (general seating) range and slowly went up in price over time, that's what ended my concerts days.

Chicago had Warehouse Records, the best place to buy Vinyl and Compact Discs.. Pacific Stereo stores, the best place to buy audio equipment and Allied electronics, Olson electronics and EDI for parts... My wife worked at EDI and got a 15% discount.. a big deal, as we were poor at the time. But usually paid full price for most any audio or musical equipment we purchased back then. I wish I had kept everything we purchased back in the day as we are still poor today .. LoL

The last show I saw was McCartney in July 2019 Freshen' Up Tour (got in free as my son was working with PETA and needed an extra person for that show) we had seats in the $300 area. Wix Wickens who plays keyboards for Paul came out to our table before the show and thanked us on behalf of Paul who is a big sponsor of PETA).. No cameras were allowed. Had to walk mine back to the car but managed to take some of his tour buses parked outside the stadium. He had at least 5 tractor-trailers for his rig setup.

Thank you very much for posting the links, the info and show line-ups.. FredR you were one lucky dude back in the day!! WoW

Sounds like good times. I had to compare the lists to Cobo Arena in Detroit where I grew up.
Funny in 73 you had Black Oak Arkansas/ Framptons Camel & I went to see Humble Pie / Black Oak Arkansas

I don't see the Stones/ Moody's/ Led Zep etc. at the Warehouse. Did they play a different venue in NO ?

Some big name bands considered the venue too small to play. They typically ended up doing large outdoor concerts. The really cool bands would play the Warehouse but add additional dates. You can see the bands that did that in the list I posted.

I was. Not until years later that I realized just how special the time and place were.

I installed carpet in Teds cabin near Traverse City Michigan around 1978? & Kept the check made out to me from Amboy Dukes Inc.
Haven't seen it in awhile though.
