I bought a pair of "F" 's brand new when they came out, they were the most lifelike crystal clear ANYTHING. But , they gobbled up power and their SPL wasn't up to a punk kid that wanted to blow people back out the door. I did manage to fry the voice coil on one, then got all gacked and dissected what remained of the rest, even cut the cone free and separated all 3 different sections. Boxed it up and the other, mailed em back to Ohm with some smartass note and figured I'd heard the last of em.
Three weeks later i got a brand new pair with a note apologizing for shipping my speakers with 5 amp fuses, as they called for 4 and could they do anything else to remedy the situation. I was suitably shocked and wrote them a nice note back explaining that you people built em surely you knew what I did to em. Yes, they replied , but that was after the speaker was rendered useless by the detonation of the voice coil.

What can i say, ......remarkable.

Hows about doing it right this time? Like one system, the Creek or the Phase Linear amps, and just one CDP listen switch them out, listen again....can't be all that difficult, if you put a DAC in the mix, use it with both.... :read2: :read2: :read2: :study: :read2: :read2: :read2:

Stuwee. I did that with the GF and Onix. The Onix is better. I have 3 systems and 6 speakers in a 12 foot wide area. The Onix is patched in while it is on the floor. It is a pain for me to get behind the racks just to unplug ICs. I'm not pulling the Shanling out. I know it sounds better w/o the DAC and stuff. Now I may pull the DAC and stuff off the Onix and see how it sounds. I may do that. Trust me I usually end up pulling the wrong ICs then try to put then on and get the right ones. I can't read the backs of the components. For a long time I had to run A and B speakers on the Creek because I had the speakers plugged in wrong. LOL I did fix them. LOL I'm not lazy. It is just a pain in the butt.

Larry, you really can't expect to get a good grip on what your hearing a componet do unless you just change it with something else :D , you go all willy nilly and it doesn't help us know what's good and what isn't :? , ya dig man :?:

What the heck is Willy Nilly. Dude I never do one thing. Just isn't me. Like with the Labs. I couldn't just change Caps. I had to redesign the xover and rewire every thing. LOL So what made them sound better? LOL

I want you to know Lee these cables weigh almost as much as the speakers. LOL Do you want the clips to make it so it isn't bi-wired?
