A "query" is a large hole in the ground from which we derive...answers.

With that said, I have a query for the forum. Years ago, for lack of space, I stored my Cyrus amp and its PSX power supply in a shed in the backyard. Yeah...(hangs head)...summer and winter. When I eventually sent it to the shop, it worked...but did not sound quite right. So...I replaced all the caps in the preamp section. It was better then, but something, something was still lacking.

Now it occurs to me that maybe I should replace the caps in the PSX unit, as they also endured summer and winter. If so, do I use a different type of cap, and if so, what kind?

I doubt the hot and cold affected the caps. My guess is the Cyrus sounds different, and it is taking you a while to assimilate it. Audio memory is a tricky thing. You've got to practice the skill and always be aware of your own bias.
