Larry, you can always reduce the image resolution on your camera for images you are going to post on the internet. Don't post a 14 megapixel image, shoot at 1,024 x 768 or smaller if you plan to put the image on the web. :)
Larry they have Adobe Photoshop Elements to help do basic photo processing and the software that probably came with your camera is also good.

As for the difficulty sending the photos from the camera to the computer. There is a file called a TWAIN DRIVER (no it's not high on anything) that must be installed to make the transfer work right. the driver is specific to your camera and this is also how the PC automatically recognizes the camera, sets accordingly and can tag the photo with camera name and shot info.

Nornally when you plug it in the first time it will try to ID and install the TWAIN, otherwise you may need to install the software that came with it and use the Cameras, scanners and faxes section in ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE.

Some USB devices require the devices to remain unplugged during part or all of the installation. Instructions are often inportant to follow as given in these cases.

When you have a TWAIN properly installed all programs that use TWAINs will find the device available to them (well, we should hope so).

Install the TWAIN first and you can use the camera with whatever uses it until you can install the cradle or anything else that will have it.

John if I give you the link to the manual. Can you see if you can find the adjustment and tell me what page. I found it for movies. Just not stills.

Oh Kay...

Since I haven't latched to the part that said what camera...

I could guess that use have an LCD viewer and if you toggle some switch(es) a menu will appear in it which operates as a tree. Toggle the control to go though the tree untill you see the setings to change. Figure out how. Accept the changes. Get out of the menu and shoot pics!

Yes Steven. I have done all of that. I read the manual and do the toggle thing. LOL I have even learned how to trash my pics. My other program would do it for me. It is a Fuji AX300.

Back in the late 80's I had a Canon T-70. I sold it for $100 more than I purchased it for. I had bought it used from a friend who was into photography. I just wasn't devoted enough to make full use of that camera. And I sure wish I had taken more photos when I was younger.

Larry, you need to keep a steady hand when snapping a picture. By depressing the shutter partially down you can set the auto-focus, before depressing the shutter button fully to take the picture. You'll get better at it.

Nando.

I still have my Canon T-90, its a beast, way more camera than I ever needed, but I used to be rich and it was on sale. Spending the weekend with Mom, I talked her into loaning me her 1950's Contax rangefinder with 50mm 1.5f Carl Zeiss lens, it takes the best pictures I've ever seen. I was called the poor mans Leica, I think my Gramps paid $500 for it in 1952 in Germany

Larry, the T-90 came with a small novel for a handguide
