Just finished installing a strip heater in the bathroom for those extra chilly days.
Typical first class job. Just tied it to the towel bar.
Thought that now that I have to start paying for my power bills now, I may as well get some value for money....
Going to test it now, and see how much water I can splash on it (while I'm having a shower), before it blows up....

@D2: How does a vacuum cleaner fry a monitor?

It did something to the current going to the monitor, I'd say the vacuum was borderline faulty and close to tripping the residual current device.
