Better stock up for your DBT

Wasn't this supposed to happen long ago ... 100watt bulbs were supposed to be phased out first ... then 75watts, etc.
I can see a black market opening up for old style bulbs LOL.
Our tax dollars at work ... smh
 
The fridge light went out Wednesday. So I tried to put a led bulb in but the base is to big to fit. Went and bought 4 yesterday thinking these will be not available soon and then this thread
 
My home depot carries 30 through 300 watt incandescents..
 
Incandescent bulbs are banned since almost ten years in France, but I still use them, lights instantly, no blueish/greenish colors, no interferences,
really off when turned off (some led bulbs keeps slightly lighted due to capacitive coupling by the switch)...

That is the situation in Europe .
Direct replacements are available for most bulbs but in case of special bulbs ( low power or hi power )
In these cases you can use halo lamps.
Light dimmers are not compatible ; they must be replaced with new types .
When you choose new bulbs forget watts but use lumens
and K degrees ( 2700 / 3000 K is a good value )

I’ve been stockpiling incandescent bulbs for a few years now. They’re good for heating stuff too. I have a mini fridge for tempering photo chemicals that has a 60 watt bulb in it, and a couple 75 watt bulbs in drop lights to keep the pump house above freezing. Banning them is stupid, almost no one uses them for general lighting anymore.
 
much ado about nothing at this point.

The rough service bulbs were not included in the ban and seem to be readily available. Others might be, too. So I'm not hoarding bulbs, yet.
