Better dipersion of LED Meter lamps

Has anybody tried these to possibly get rid of or at least lessen the "hot spots" on the meter lamps by diffusing the light more effectively(see pic)? I just ordered some to give a shot.I read somewhere that someone sanded the lamps and thought these may achieve the same results.

If they don’t get too hot, a piece of tracing paper would probably help too.

Marantz used vellum lens covers. The 700 has LEDs. Shouldn't have any temperature rise.

Drafting mylar taped to the bottom of the meters.

Sand paper # 230 on led surface per 3 seconds .
Already suggested in this forum but I can't find

I did read an article about sanding the led, but am curious if slipping one of these rubber socks on will achieve similar results without the possibility of damaging the led...

I don't think sanding (or dust blasting- even better) will hurt anything since they are like 99% plastic, and it would take quite a bit of sanding to get anywhere...
