I'm running two WOPL 700B amps in my main system, and when we get done with summer's activities here, I want to finish the process and go Full Comp. Right now, both my 700s have new main filter caps, Rev C main boards, blue 6 LED meter boards, and Don Imlay's dc protect circuit. All I'm lacking is the backplane modification .
Here's what I would like your opinions on...I know from what Lee has said that the primary amp driving my mains will definitely sound better with the full comp circuitry. But what about the subwoofers? Will I hear much difference between Quasi and Fully Complimentary outputs?
My system is set up like this:
> WOPL 700b #1 > Dahlquist DQ-10 Main Speakers
SAE 2100L preamp > Dahlquist DQ-LP1 Active Crossover >
> WOPL 700b #2 > Dahlquist DQ-1W Subwoofer
Will it be worth it to do the conversion to the subwoofer amp? What would the difference in sound be? I shudder (pun intended) to think that the bass could be any better than it already is...
