Oh my, where has time gone (^ July 1 ^)? Honey-do projects jumped the line and audio stuff got shelved. Back to work on this and over the past couple of weeks, out with the old and in with the new.

Ready to go back in the chassis.

Brought it up on variac and dbt - no smoke encountered. DC voltage is 19V on both rails with 10 ohm resistor in each leg of secondary (the original 4136 installed for testing).

Calling it a day for now and will get back to it tomorrow.

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Here is the wrap up for now.

After starting this I figured it to be a 3 stage project;
1. replace caps/res/opamps and cleanup controls
2. better power supply
3. better vol and bal controls - stepped attenuator (maybe remote control)

I ended up at 1.5 with taking the existing xfmr, rectification and smoothing/bulk caps out of the chassis. I had purchased a small project enclosure but it ended being really tight on space so I took a tower pc power supply, gutted it and installed all the components. A switched and fused PEM, G10 board to install diodes and caps, then ran a cable with mini XLR connector to connect to back of pre chassis.

The unit is back in the system and sounds fantastic! Also glad to have phono back - found a one legged cap during part removal.
