Neat deck, Bob. What head configuration is the one you are getting?

Nando, as near as I can tell from the photos, it's a half-track deck. There's a 1/4 track playback head kit I'm looking at getting just so I can play both formats. It's a Teac 7300 in drag, so internal parts shouldn't be too bad to come by if it comes to that.

It's gonna take a little cleaning up and a set of my patented red oak wood side panels to make it look good at the house but the guy I bought it from seems to be pretty straight up about things so if it's as he described, it may not need too much work.

But it's on it's way to Tom (Nakdoc) in Nashville so he can check it out first to see what I've got.

Keep us up to date on how the deck comes along, Bob. It wasn't long for you to get a hankerin' for another open-reel deck. Your custom wood side panels make all the difference in the looks of the deck.

Nando.

Well Whaddya Know

It made it to Nakdoc's shop in Nashvegas. He sez it's really purdy and plays very nicely. Got my Nashville tape pimp bringing him a reel of LPR-35 so he can get it calibrated and ready to make some music.

Kind of like the million monkeys, typewriters and a novel, UPS gets it right once in a while. Now I just gotta get up there are pick this thing up.

Man, that does look like a Teac that I sold a few years ago. Very cool and congrats on it getting there in one piece!

A little nervousness over with, but it looks like you made a good choice, Bob. Having the R2R recalibrated before you even get it home is a wise step.

Especially with the way the Mustang drinks gas on the trips back and forth, Nando.
