This particular unit was taken in trade from Chris in Ft. Dodge Iowa for some work done on his Spec 1 and Spec 2. He's had the Spec 1 for a few days and the Spec 2 is 3 days out, He must have liked what he heard. He sent an SAE 2300 back in the Cabbage Case, and says a Pioneer CDPs coming this way after the Spec 2 gets unlaoded.
Also in the last pic, because I do so much testing, I am modifying the rack to take components and hook them up to what they need to complete testing without doing a bunch of rewiring in the back of the rack.

Lee, IMHO the XPL 910 transistors that are in that amp are the best sounding of all the 5 PLWO 400's that I have.

I am ashamed to say this , but aftrer youi pointing that out I finally checked em out close, yep 910's. That's funny, the 910's were only used on very early stuff. 75 build date on the 910's and ? on the amp. 8701? They were not buildiong 400's in 87.

Funny?? Yeah, guess so. I have not listened to this particular 400 yet, or even opened it up.
