I can't listen to music at Mach 2 any more. Hurts my ears. I'm probably at about 90 dbs this morning. I may try to bring the Vandies in today. Have to do my measurements 1st. Just moved them in the house. Now to measure and set them up. I fell down. LOL These speakers are not light. Sorry my train of thought went away.

Well I'm dieing here. LOL Got them out of the box. No spikes or anything. Think I will contact Vandersteen and see what upgrade has been done. Get bolts and spikes. I'm still on the fence about the upgrade to my PL. You have to hear what I'm listening to to understand. There is some awesome sound coming out of these speakers. Very defined. I mean when Lee did my amp I was pushing 525 wpc. No need for more power. I have BGs in there right now. These speakers were the best 500.00 I have spent. I'm going all over the place music wise. Just put some 10,000 Maniacs in. Very nice sounding speakers. Have to do some investigating on the speaker wires. If they are anything like the ICs would be very nice for sure. I guess my perspective is we don't all just blast. We don't all have horns. So what we hear isn't the same. We are all in different phases of building systems. Not saying one system is better than the other. Just saying we all have different wants and needs from our systems. I don't want to listen to Ray Charles or Frank Sinatra at ear bleeding levels. I want it very clear and defined though. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Yep, I don't listen to Patricia Barber at Mach 8 either, bt it's like she's in the room with ya.

Very nice speakers. For the price. Jerry you need to come and stay a bit. Bring the family and kick back and relax. We have room. I think you will be very surprised. Wish you guys were here to listen. Really they may suck and I'm not very well in the hearing range. LOL Listening to Gary Moore right now.

I wonder if they use the same vifa D25AG tweeter that I have in my Snells? I think it might be. I haven't listened to them in years but I remember liking them a lot.

Me too. I just asked them about the speaker cables the same as the ICs. Gotta love it. Man I have to get a pitch gauge. I hate having to guess on bolts and screws. I'm going to use carriage bolts on my wood floors instead of spikes. Read it some where.

I don't have a cough this morning or today even. Took some awhile ago. I'm spying the amps today also. Just don't think my back will take all this at once. Plus the synergy may make me cry. LOL

I'm sitting in the garage with the door open.

Larry, it's interesting that these vandersteens seem to agree with your approach to crosspoints. I remember you prefering tweeters crossed over at higher than the 2.5k/3k norm. And these are at 5k.

I thought you said somewhere that madisound goes to low and you preferred just the opposite, like 5-6k. Oh well. Anyway, i just read a bunch about the 2ce and I have a local dealer. Turns out they don't have them displayed anymore and are special order only =/. I would have liked to take a listen.

Its unfortunate that they have no dealers in NH or MA either. I find it odd that such a notable speaker doesn't have a presence out here. But I guess it's becoming more common place as shops close doors.

I think I'll get the serial numbers tomorrow and email them and see what was done 5 years a go. I am a very happy camper at the moment though. LOL

Get in your car and come straight down I-95/ Take a right on I-81 drive about an hour and a 1/2 and you are there. Listen as long as you like. LOL
